Present
weathercasts and news reports which are informative, interesting,
compelling, and entertaining to Fox-12 Oregon viewers.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Primary duty is to present
weathercasts and news reports according to regular program schedule.
Will also research, develop and cover weather reports in the
field which are informative, interesting and compelling while remaining
consistent with the stations brand and editorial philosophy.
Cover news stories, write and edit news copy, anchor newscasts,
edit video on i-news/Avid computer system.Work with producer to create
newscasts, teases, and promos.Work with News Director, Managing Editor,
and Producers to plan and prepare for special event coverage.Conduct
interviews and make public appearances on behalf of the station.Other
duties as assigned. Four year college/university degree in Journalism,
Communications, or other related field. Minimum three years experience as an anchor or reporter for
commercial/public television. Knowledge
of how to blend words and video into informative and interesting
television news stories.Must be a skilled communicator that can connect
with a diverse audience. Must
be able to assimilate information quickly and be able to compile and
summarize that information into a clear, concise, and understandable
presentation. Must be able to conduct meaningful and interesting

To
ensure that WCCO provides the most accurate, timely and useful
information available anywhere about traffic conditions and other
commuting concerns; to provide news about traffic and transportation
issues that will help viewers and users of WCCO news make better
decisions for themselves about how to get around. Manage traffic
computer system and on-air presentation through morning newscasts and
live, morning cut-ins. Develop
and maintain sources that will provide further reliable and timely
information about traffic and transportation. Focus on helping producers showcase live, breaking traffic
news using maps and the state department of transportation camera
system. Deliver reports live on air and online covering travel times,
incidents and alternative routes in a compelling, up-to-the-minute and
creative way. Work closely
with morning news executive producer to regularly evaluate presentation
and timeliness of traffic information.
Complete additional duties as assigned.
Candidate must be results-oriented and innovative, and must
demonstrate leadership and teamwork. Must have strong organizational and
communication skills. Must be able to work with multiple computer
systems under tight deadlines. Live on-camera performance experience and
skills, attention to detail and unfailing devotion to accuracy are
essential. Two (2) years'
on-air experience in commercial television preferred. Bachelor's degree
in Broadcast Journalism, Communications or related field preferred.
